16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
Not only did God give first, but we believe God demonstrates radical generosity towards us...beyond what we can even imagine! As a church, our prayer is that our hearts would continually align more with God's and that we would become a radically generous church in how we use our time, energy, and finances.
What is tithing?
The word "tithe" literally means tenth or 10%. Tithing, or giving ten percent of your income, isn't merely giving something to God. It's giving back what was his to begin with. All that we have, or hope to have, comes from him. The Bible says that tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything. It teaches us to always put God first in our lives. We think it's a healthy principle to give a tithe back to the Lord.
Above and beyond generosity
Tithing is a great starting point, but we don't think God wants any of us to stop there. We believe He wants us to continue growing in generosity. In Malachi 3:10, God says "Go ahead. I dare you. See if you can out-give me." Kingdom Builders is a chance for you to be extravagantly generous and to put God to this test.
Kingdom Builders is set up like an eternal mutual fund with various types of projects that we think are near and dear to God's heart and that He is blessing. Each year we pray and seek the Lord for what Gospel-advancing initiatives He would want our church to participate in and then we apply faith that He will stir our hearts to provide the funding for them.
Unlike risky mutual funds that have questionable future returns, we are believing God for guaranteed eternal rewards that will pay back for all of eternity on investments made in Kingdom Builders initiatives.
